About Me:
I am a retired professional educationalist, having been a school teacher for 11 years and a school headteacher for 23 years in Manchester City. I was a Senior School Inspector working for Manchester Local Education Authority for 8 years. I have a huge amount of experience of working with children, their families and local communities in Manchester, particularly in ‘deprived and disadvantaged’ areas. I consider myself to have great skills in relating to and getting along with people. I enjoy working and socialising with all kinds of people. I have a strong sense of humour but pride myself in never being offensive or rude. I enjoy travelling a lot, most recently to Brazil and South America. Currently I do voluntary work, working as a trustee of a multi academy trust in Manchester and a governor of two primary schools in Manchester. I volunteer for the British Heart Foundation in their charity/vintage shop. My interests include all sport, keeping fit, I am a member of three gyms, and I have a personal trainer. I have a British Bulldog and travel to my holiday home in Pembrokeshire as often as I can. I have lived with my partner for 42 years.
