About Me:
With a background in healthcare and other public sector roles I am resourceful, reliable and adaptable with good communication skills and a strong work ethic. Nothing much fazes me and I’m known for staying calm and inspiring confidence in a variety of settings.
I have my own private practice supporting new parents in pregnancy or with their new babies as a hypnobirthing teacher and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I also continue with one shift a week as an NHS midwife which allows me to support families in labour and birth – what a privilege!
This combination affords me a lot of flexibility with my time and I’m excited to take on new challenges such as modelling. Last year I challenged myself to perform stand-up comedy and was pleased to get a great reception, and lots of laughs, from the audience of 140 people. It was a fabulous experience, working with a group of diverse strangers who quickly became quirky friends as we supported each other through eight weeks of training and script development. The ability to take feedback and work constructively with it was vital and I imagine will also be important while on a modelling shoot. Certainly, in the report from my test shoot, my willingness to follow direction and my adaptability were highlighted as helpful.
I live in South Wales with my adult son and dog, but am very used to travelling for work from time spent as a freelance trainer and event manager. I also spend time near Bristol where my partner lives. I try to travel lightly and am clever at packing a lot into a small bag although I do have a reputation for a heavy everyday handbag (I like to be prepared for lots of eventualities, think modern-day Mary Poppins!)
