About Me:
Hi, my name is Andrea. I have been married to Colin for 29 years, and we have twins (a boy and a girl) who are 26 years old. I am also a nana to Harry, who is 17 months old.
After finishing school, I started working for my brother in one of his bars. I was the cook, and I learned everything I know about cooking from my brother, who was a qualified chef. I love cooking. Yes, it was extremely hard work and long hours. When I wasn’t cooking, I was serving behind the bar. I really enjoyed meeting and talking to different people and having some fun with them. I progressed to helping my brother run one of the bars, handling the ordering, banking, and bookwork. That was my job for 28 years.
I left the bar work to fundraise for a trip to Uganda, where I volunteered to teach young vulnerable girls how to cook. I was also able to help with sanitation in one of the refugee camps and sponsored two refugees through school. I loved the time I spent with the local people, and I was able to gain their trust. Because of this, I got to understand their culture. I told myself I would live as they did, and I did. I have been back to Uganda quite a few times since, and I have remained friends with many of the amazing people I got to meet.
I am also involved with my church in many different ways, such as flower arranging, helping with social events, and fundraising.
