• Interview by Sky News regarding Prince Charles and the children hunting in North Norfolk 1990’s
• Interview by BBC News Look East – I bought an interesting house that was renovated which Prince Charles came to open (he opened the building – I bought one house), late 1990’s
• A BBC News Look East documentary. I was asked to present a documentary regarding public transport – comparing the Norwich public transport infrastructure with Freiburg in Germany. I had to do fly on the wall filming, interview various people and various piece to camera presentations. It went brilliantly and they loved it …. !!!! So much fun xx
• Interviewed by Norwich Womens Business regarding recruitment and networking. This is on Youtube search under Alison Thorne – LEX Recruitment. It’s a bit boring and lengthy and filmed when I was about 45 years old. I am now 56 so the face has rather altered! But still good to go!!
• Filmed by the BBC Look East News – 2001 I married a soldier who was a commander in Afghanistan and Iraq during the war against Osama Bin Laden and Al Queda. I was at home with two babies and discussed the impact on the family and struggles of supporting family in a very difficult time. This was part of a piece about the Royal Anglian’s Second Battalion and soldiers preparing to go to war. My husband had already commanded in Afghanistan before he took the Royal Anglian’s to Iraq. Intense days. We are now divorced but amicable, thankfully.
Modelling
• Winner of Miss Newmarket 1989 (thereabouts) – I was interviewed by the Press and then was a local celebrity presenting prizes and opening fetes (!!!!) – aged 23
• Winner of a modelling competition for Javelin (a fashion shop in Bury St Edmunds) 2012 (thereabouts). I was 46.
Sports
• 2nd in the Three Valleys ski bum race out of 40 – aged in my early 20’s
• Winner of the first Country Side Alliance horse race in Fakenham 2000 – aged 35. Also placed in other races and exercised racehorses professionally in Newmarket
• Several places in running events – over middle and long distances – aged 20’s – 30’s. 2nd over 13 miles, 2nd over 6 miles, top 20 over 6 miles out of 2000 runners, and I pipped the European Ultra Runner Champion over the start line (!!) on a 50 mile race over the Yorkshire moors in January around 2015.
I would be described as having an athletic figure. Additionally, I am quite young for my age and passable for 40 on a good day.
I am pretty fearless in life and love a challenge. I am fit and very well, enjoying doing a house up and have stepped back from the business world. I am extremely adaptable and can get on with any sort of person in any environment. I am a roll your sleeves up and crack on sort of person and enjoy having a great time trying. I have complete flexibility to travel and work. Previously I was a legal recruiter and HR Consultant. I have several horses, all ex racehorses and extremely beautiful. I also have a black labrador and springer spaniel. I have a 20 year old son and 18 year old daughter who are off my hands now. My daughter also rides racehorses professionally. I have a lovely posh farmer boyfriend who is fully supportive of me trying this new venture in life.
I have been DBS checked but this needs renewing. I am flexible and always support a positive team ethos.
Additionally, I have a great sense of humour and a lot of positive energy !
