About Me:
My story in a nutshell: Rugby, Army, Motorbikes, Travel, Operations Management, Maths.
Born in Reading, Primary School in Essex, Secondary School in Essex, 6th Form in Hampshire, University in Birmingham, 10 Years Mil Service as an Infantry officer in The Duke of Wellington’s Regiment, Operations Management (The House of Bruar, Betfair, Granite Transformations), Teaching and Tutoring Maths, Start-up business investor, etc. Have lived in Lymington, Hampshire, since 2003.
I played Rugby from age 8 to 48. Along the way, I coached at various levels, and set up a new rugby club, Lymington Mariners, in 2009.
I served as an Infantry Officer for 10 years, including a couple of operational tours, 2 years training recruits in Edinburgh, and 2 years training Officer Cadets at Sandhurst, where I also commanded Pass-Out Parades on horseback.
I’ve ridden motorbikes since I was a teenager, have held a full licence since 1994, passed the AIM Advanced Rider Course in 2017, and continue to tour extensively by motorbike.
Employment post-Army has largely been Operational Management. I was the General Manager at The House of Bruar, set up to gambling operations, and operations teams, at Betfair, ran my own kitchen and bathroom refurb business, then reverted to my Maths & Psychology Degree to qualify as a Maths Teacher, and taught briefly at The Westgate School, in Winchester. I have continued to tutor maths, from SATs prep to A Level, and everything in between, over the last 12 years.
