About Me:
Starting at the beginning, I was born in Glasgow to an Italian mother and an Indian/Irish father. I have a Scottish accent and Mediterranean colouring. I studied ballet until I was 16, when I took up musical theatre. This is when I broadened my dance skills to include jazz, contemporary, tap, partner work and really anything I was requiredto do. I still perform in amateur musical theatre but am maybe not quite as energetic and flexible as I once was. I do still tap dance every week and do Salsa dancing when I can.
I sing soprano and feel my voice is suited to folk songs. I guess the accent helps with that.
As well as musical theatre, I have performed in and directed many plays over the years. These include panto, farce, drama, commedia dell’art. A dream come true was performing in the Edinburgh Fringe two years running when I lived there.
Now, I work as a driving instructor and previous jobs were mostly working with children as a nanny and nursery teacher.
I am very proud to have served in the Royal Navy, allowing me to travel. Being an army wife also game me travel opportunities and allowed me to perform in many drama clubs in different countries.
I have two grown up daughters and four grandchildren, all of whom, I love spending time with.
I’m the energetic Nonna that runs around and gets physical with them.
If I’m honest the main passion in my life has always been dancing and performing. As new younger dancers are coming along, I no longer get the parts I would like. This is why I thought I’d try modelling or extra work. It still gives me the chance to do what I love without being judged. I would be cast for who I am.
There is still life in me and I want to live it to the full.
