About Me:
I am married with a married son, daughter-in-law and 5-year-old grandson.
I am keen on sports – football, cricket, golf, motorsport. I enjoy driving.
I read a great deal – probably 40 books a year and am particularly interested in historical novels.
I enjoy watching ScandiNoir series on TV and also historical series, for example about the Vikings, the Romans and the Middle Ages.
I had roles a few years ago in 10-minute films (about 5) made by students at Wolverhampton University as part of their degree course.
I have worked in the automotive industry and in the water disinfection industry, installing systems in hospitals
Throughout my working life as Editor of engineering magazines, I have travelled all over the world – Europe, Scandinavia, USA, Canada, Hawaii, Argentina and Brazil, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and Mainland China, Nigeria, Algeria, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia and love travelling by rail, boat (including a Mississippi riverboat) canal, cruise (Norway) and air.
Also among my interests are railways and model railways. I have been involved in both canal and railway restoration.
I have been in local politics at the Parish, Town and Borough Council levels.
I have been Governor and Chairman of Governors at a Primary School (7 years) Secondary School (15 years) and a Sikh School (1 year). As a Governor I was the Governor for children with Special Educational Needs.
I have organised street fairs with a member of the Showman’s Guild and slept on a church porch through a December night in a sleeping bag to raise money for the first defibrillator in town.
