I have a number of attributes and life skills that I feel would suit this career choice. Determination, perseverance and the desire to excel in all that I do are I believe, some of my personal strengths. Although my self-confidence over recent years has become something that has diminished.
As a single man, I served 10 years in the British army as an infantry soldier in the Royal Welsh, formally known as the Royal Regiment of Wales. This involved 2 operational tours of Iraq and also 2 tours of Afghanistan. My self-pride and confidence were at their highest.
Back to civilian life, I pursued a variety of career choices. These included close protection, construction, landscaping/ tree surgery. I finally found my niche working outdoors enjoying landscaping and gardening. I am also currently in the process of developing a small business providing outdoor activities and parties involving zorbing football, battle archery, target archery nerf wars.
13 years ago I met “the one” shall we say and we married 4 years ago. We have two boys aged 9 and 6. Over this time I felt my self-esteem and confidence deteriorate. The day before my portfolio shoot in London I discovered my wife’s infidelity. My world as I knew it was over. I found it hard to function. But with support from my family and friends, I have begun to realize how strong and capable I am. I have regular time with my sons, who are my priority and have developed a newfound confidence and belief that I can take many positives out of what was a very negative situation.
