About Me:
Melanie has been practising Yoga for over 20 years. Though – as most teachers – she considers herself a perpetual beginner.
She has been teaching Yoga for around 15 years, mainly in the Ashtanga Yoga style and has adapted the core principles to reach people of all abilities, flexibility and requirements.
Currently building a community of people interested in the ethics, and stories behind yoga.
Her interest in fashion started as soon as she started to walk – making clothes for her dolls (often using mum’s curtains!) before she learnt skills from her father who was a tailor, and then formally at college before gaining her degree in Textile Economics and Manchester University.
With this, she enjoyed creating fashion shows and attending gallery openings and exhibitions. She even managed to show at the V & A as part of a collection which also included Sandra Rhodes.
Her professional career was built within the marketing communications on brands which included finance, technology, leisure and eventually fundraising for national charities.
