About Me:
My name is Juels, and I have been working in the entertainment industry for 35 years. I have a lot of experience both on stage and TV.

I began to dance professionally at the age of 14 and attended the Jennifer Hayley Dance School. I appeared as a professional dancer many times in pantomimes. I achieved my child equity card at the age of 15 when I appeared as one of the dwarfs in the musical “The Hobbit,” performed at Fortune Theatre, Covent Garden.

I have also taken part in many extra roles in “The Bill” (3x), “Antonio and Jane” (short film), “Blue Peter” (2x) – I have the badges to prove it – and a Coca-Cola advert, plus many more.

During my career, I have been lucky enough to perform with some of the industry’s elite. From A-list stars such as Jude Law and Johnny Lee Miller to other household names like Charlotte Bellamy (Laurel in “Emmerdale”), West End star Amy Nuttall, and comedy favourite Matt Lucas. This was through working with the National Youth Music Theatre. I also performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

In 1999, I began my own dance school, JD’s Dance, before taking a career break to bring up my four children. All my children were baby/child models through Scallywags Modelling Agency.

As soon as I could, I became self-employed again, and for the past 16 years, I have been teaching dance and drama in local primary schools in East London. As part of my lessons in the schools, I would regularly produce big productions such as “Mary Poppins,” “Oliver,” “Annie,” “The Sound of Music,” and many more.

I also worked on a pirate radio station where I was the weather girl, which led to the drive-time show and having my slot.

During this time, I also created “Funky Feet Dance Parties,” where I would choreograph personalised dance routines to the birthday child’s favourite songs. After playing fun party games and learning the routine, the young party guests would perform to the parents.

Now I have joined forces with my business partner Jo, and we co-run our “Funky Feet Dance Academy” in Chingford, London.

Currently, I am working on the musical “Matilda” for this year’s annual show, choreographing all routines.

I have lots of time on my hands and would love to get back in front of the camera.
